Success Stories

Up one level

An overview of success stories.

Peer Reviews aim to create a process of mutual learning among Member State governments and other actors in the field of social inclusion policies. The discussion of social inclusion policy approaches and measures among a group of peers – composed of both the relevant civil servants and experts in the field – stimulates new ideas, allows participants to view their own problems in a new light and finally may trigger concrete action in peer countries. The transfer of measures or policy components is the best proof of the impact that the Open Method of Co-ordination in general and the Peer Reviews in particular can have.

This new section on ‘Success stories’ has been created to make this impact visible. It is based on the impact evaluation of the 2004 Peer Reviews which was undertaken by the technical assistance team in the spring of 2005. Whenever Peer Review participants reported transfer activities in the impact evaluation questionnaire, additional information was collected and is now displayed here as a success story.

Owing to changes of responsibility and their generally high workload, it has not yet been possible to collect impact information from a considerable number of peer review participants.

We cordially invite visitors to this page who know about Peer Review impacts not mentioned here to contact us at socialinclusion@oesb.at.
