Policy formulation for marginalised groups becomes mandatory in Denmark

Homelessness: Impact of the UK Peer Review in Denmark: Explicit policy formulation for all marginalised groups will become mandatory in Denmark

In the UK it is mandatory for municipalities to formulate a homelessness policy. Inspired by this fact and also taking into account the administrative reform which moves powers from the regions to the municipalities, a similar reform is in the planning stage in Denmark. However, it will be recommended that this mandatory policy formulation will not only be directed to homeless people, but to all marginalised groups. This is in line with the Danish government’s broader policy framework directed to marginalised groups, called “Our Common Responsibility”. The reform will be implemented from 1 January 2007 onwards.
