The European Centre is an UN-affiliated intergovernmental organization concerned with all aspects of social welfare policy and research. It is an international centre of applied social science and comparative empirical research on social policy and welfare and a platform initiating future-oriented public policy debates on social welfare issues within the UN-European Region.

Founded in 1983, the Centre for European Policy Studies is an independent policy research institute dedicated to producing sound policy research leading to constructive solutions to the challenges facing Europe today.
BE: CES - Centre for Social Economy
The Centre for Social Economy (Centre d'Economie Sociale, or CES) is part of the Faculty of Economics, Management and Social Sciences of the University of Liege. It is the only university research centre whose activities are totally devoted to the "social economy", understood as a third sector distinct from the traditional private and public sectors, which brings together private initiatives not having the search for profit as their main aim - namely associations, co-operatives, mutual organisations and foundations.

STAKES is an expert agency under the Finnish Ministry of Social Affairs and Health and is committed to promoting the well-being and health of people, and to securing equal access for all to high-quality and effective welfare and healthcare services. STAKES produces information and know-how in the field of welfare and health and forwards them to decision-makers and other actors in the field. As a centre of expertise, STAKES bases its functions on research, development and information resources.
FR: EIESP – European Institute of Education and Social Policy (Université de Paris-Dauphine)
EIESP is an independent non-profit education body experienced in the analysis of education and training policies in Europe. It contributes to policy analysis and comparisons and is specifically concerned with strategic planning for lifelong learning. It does this by carrying out strategy development, evaluation and dissemination activities in transition societies and at regional level, as well as within the EU member states, building bridges among practitioners, policy makers and researchers.

NL: NIZW - Institute for Care and Welfare
NIZW is an independent organization dedicated to quality and innovation of the care and welfare sector. It works in a number of areas such as child care, social services, community work, service provision to the elderly, youth care, informal care, long term care, home care and care for the disabled. NIZW informs, innovates and supports by a combination of research, development and implementation, which enables it to supervise and support innovations and improvements from the start to the end of projects.
SK: Bratislava Centre for Work and Family Studies
The priority subject among BCWFS activities is research. It is focused on the sociological study in the field of social and family policy, labour market and employment policy and industrial relations and in the field of occupational safety and health. Results of the studies are subsequently used by the founder in creation of laws, concepts, strategies and programmes within the competence of the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family of the Slovak Republic.
